AMH Night

Last night was one of our club traditions: thanks to AMH, we have an APU team night where there is food and good prices at our local sport shop.  The elite team’s job is to help people find poles, skis and boots, as well as mingle and have a good time with our whole club.  We are a huge group now!  We are becoming a force to be reckoned with, not only as an elite team, but as a system with all levels of skiing.  It is pretty exciting!
My self-appointed job was to bring pumpkin chocolate chip bread and muffins, as well as hand out Fischer stickers.  The stickers were a hit with the kids: because the stickers are die-cut we were figuring out what you could spell with the letters when you rearrange them.  The muffins were fun because I wrote and drew things on them with chocolate icing.  The one in the picture (Thank you Don for taking this shot, and Erik for letting us use your camera) was the last one, and I thought I would just write Swix as a thank you to our excellent team sponsor.  Without them, we wouldn’t have our awesome poles and uniforms, so we are very grateful.
It was great to see everyone there and excited about the coming winter.  For me, getting new gear has always been one of the signals that winter is really coming as well as something exciting just because it’s fun.  I hope all of the Juniors had similar experiences, despite the crowd and chaotic atmosphere.  I am headed to Junior practice this afternoon, and am looking forward to another good time with all of them.  I am discovering that it’s really fun to be involved with the different levels of our program!
