Tomorrow we leave for Bozeman, and more racing! It’s been a pretty relaxed few days, just training and hanging out here at the APU house. We had a couple of recovery adventure skis that we did from our house, and we ended up going some amazing places! There are photos from those as well as the first part of this trip here. The photo above is of Katie Ronsse soaking up some quality time in the mountains on our second adventure. It turned out that we skied across the Continental Divide, and got some amazing views. We may even be able to claim a first ascent on cross country race skis! It was a beautiful day, and a great way to take a mental break from the ski scene for a bit. It wasn’t all recovery though, we just got back today from an intensity workout that definitely kicked my butt a little bit. It’s important to maintain fitness this early in the season, so we are still training.
It’s been a great almost two weeks here in our house, and I think that people are a little bit sad to leave. But, we are definitely looking forward to some more racing, and some more hills to ski on! Bohart Ranch, the distance race site in Bozeman, is known for it’s excellent climbs. It will be good to do some quality classic striding there. And I have never raced in the sprint venue at Lindley Park before; so it will be exciting to check that out as well. It’s in the middle of town, so the atmosphere could be pretty energetic!
Tomorrow, we will cram the van (which will be an extreme exercise in spatial problem solving) and roll on up to Bozeman!
