Eric Strabel took this shot after practice today and emailed it to me. I thought it was something worth sharing because of its relevance: It was chilly skiing in Anchorage today. The glazed snow was still not super slow, and I felt like I acclimated to it pretty quickly, but it was a bit of a shock yesterday and this morning. It shows what a wuss I am becoming because it was only -10 this morning. Right now it is 4 degrees in Anchorage, -18 and snowing in Fairbanks, and 24 degrees in West Yellowstone! Guess where I am headed in two days...
APU hits the road Thursday morning bright and early, and there is a chance of snow friday and Saturday in West Yellowstone, our first stop. Things are looking positive for the races this year! I can’t wait to get on the road, I am in the final stretch of packing, cleaning, and getting all ready. Training has been going really well, and I definitely feel like I am in shape and ready to rock. The only thing left to find out is how ready everyone else is!
As a side note, this is one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time. And perhaps a good idea...
